Money Monday: Flex Fuel, Is It Worth It?
It's another Monday, and that means it's time for another Money Saving Tip from Mineral Wells Chevrolet Buick GMC!

Today's tip: Flex Fuel, is it worth it?
You have most likely seen the dramatic price difference between E85 and Regular Unleaded, and for many people the price difference appears to offer a huge advantage, but does it really?

E85 is a symbol of hope. Cleaner air. Reduced oil dependence. Less money at the pump. Here is the 411. Yes! The corn based fuel produces far less pollution than traditional gasoline, and it also reduces the dependence on gasoline. It even saves you money at the pump. However, you will be visiting the pump more frequently!
"FFVs typically get about 15%-30% fewer miles per gallon when fueled with e85," according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
In order to determine rather the price drop is worth it to you. Fill up your tank and track the miles you are able to travel on e85 (if and only if your vehicle is an FFV). How does it compare to what you are able to travel on Regular unleaded? Are the environmental benefits worth the lower estimated miles per gallon?
